I've been running Win 7 Beta as a desktop for a few weeks now. I have been looking at an upgrade of my Mac but this Beta has been making me think about waiting for Win 7.

Although i still run XP on my other boxes for gaming, it is only a matter of time before the performance argument will disappear with the next wave of hardware upgrades.

Yep, I'm aware that performance-wise XP beats Vista and Windows 7 however XP isn't the greatest choice for running 64 bit hardware and software. Which is exactly what I have in my machine; XP does have a 64 bit version yes but I won't get into arguments about it.

Also, another service pack will be released sometime this year for Vista in order to keep users happy with the current OS. No doubt this will fix some minor software and hardware problems as well as some performance issues.

In case you don't remember, XP wasn't considered fully stable until after the Service Pack 2 release and when it first came out there were many software problems with it as well.

Regardless, Windows 7 still looks great.
