Apple iPhone 4S

by Bea October 11th, 2011 | Apple
With the passing of Steve Jobs, a lot more people have reflected on how technology has changed, and how much Jobs was involved with the changes. As most of us know, electronics available now are so amazing, because of what Jobs did. Yes, there has always been the fuel of competition to feed the fire, but he has definitely inspired a lot of developments.

That being said, the iPhone 4S was revealed the day before Jobs passed away. If only it had been the iPhone 5; that would have caused a lot more uproar and excitement. To people who had been

iPad 3′s New Screen?

by Bea June 14th, 2011 | Apple, Cell Phones, Computers, Research
Though there have been rumors about Samsung's new ultra-high-resolution technology being the iPad 3's new display, I have my doubts. The screen itself sounds absolutely wonderful. Its specs go above and beyond what the current market offers. It is a 10.1-inch WQXGA tablet touch screen with a resolution of 2560×1600. Not only that, but it also has a pixel density of 300 dots per inch. Crazy. Talk about "retina display."

Long story short, he bought the first generation iPad two weeks before the March 2nd announcement about the

Software and Society

by Ronald A. Rowe January 26th, 2011 | Apple, Apps, Software
What can we learn about society from the top software downloads from the App Store? A lot, I think. For example, three of the six top grossing apps this week have one thing in common: Zombies.

Maybe it’s the influence of AMC’s hit drama The Walking Dead. (More on that cultural phenomenon here.) Maybe the sudden interest in zombies is a rebellion against the sorry state of vampires in a post-Twilight world. Maybe they’re just good applications. But Call of Duty: Zombies, Zombie Farm, and Plants Vs. Zombies are among the top grossing of all the thousands

Netflix iPod App

by Ronald A. Rowe January 14th, 2011 | Apple, Apps, Cyber Culture, DVD, Software, Video
Regular readers of this site will know how much I love my iPod. Regular readers with a good memory may recall how enamored I am of the service provided by Netflix. So it should come as a surprise to exactly no one that I am loving the combination of the two – Netflix software for the iPod.

Netflix, a free download from the App store, allows users of iPod, iPhone, or iPad to tap into the immense volume of video available through the Netflix streaming server from anywhere (in the case
