If Laptops Go In Our Laps…
I do most of my work with a laptop from Dell. The laptop itself is fine. It’s gotten quite a bit slower in the few years that I’ve had it (though that is probably due to the sheer number of files I have saved on the hard drive) but still operates just fine. What most concerns me is the weight. This laptop is heavy!
The major reason most people purchase a laptop is because they want something portable. They want a computer they can take to the coffee shop or the library or to school. What ends up happening, more often than not, is that the laptop travels from a person’s desk to the person’s couch and that’s it. Would you want to lug around a heavy computer everywhere you go?
This is why I am in lust with the Sony VAIO Laptop with Intel Centrino. Should you decide to look this little darling up yourself, the model number is VGN-TZ240N/B. This computer has a full keyboard with an eleven inch screen. It is roughly the same size as a hardcover book. The salespeople at Best Buy wouldn’t let me hold it, so I can’t verify the weight, but a laptop that I can carry in my backpack—without needing a special bag? Heaven.
Obviously this game is best for those who aren’t into online gaming and who aren’t very concerned with graphic design or viewing movies. It is best suited for people like me—who do a lot of writing and research and need something that will travel easily from home to the library even to the bookstore as we work on projects. The 100GB Hard Drive is another selling point, especially for people like me, who like to store everything in one place (and have a back up of course).
The only drawback for this beautiful little laptop is the price. It is currently over two thousand dollars. With that price I won’t be buying it any time soon, but you can bet that I will be drooling over it every time I go a store that has an electronics department.
