Recently Netflix bumped up prices on subscription plans that include both streaming video and DVD's by mail to increase funding for better streaming services. This change brought about an outburst of angry customers, many who dropped Netflix. Due to this change, Netflix lost nearly one million of the 25 million in its customer base, and the company's value dropped to half of what it was just two months ago.
In response, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings apologized publicly earlier this month, and he announced that the company will separate the streaming service from DVD rental, launching the DVD by mail service
