Have you ever seen the movie Rocket Man? Ever wanted to fly through the skies using only a jetpack strapped to your back? It sounds like something that won’t be around until the distant future, but luckily that is not true.
JetLev Sports Inc. has designed a special jetpack unit that allows users to fly and navigate through the air provided that they are above a body of water. The pack absorbs water through an attached tubing system and uses special high-power spray nozzles to hover the user in the air above the water surface. The water supply hose also acts as a tether, so that users do not fly too high or over land which could potentially cause injuries if not restricted.
Two JetLev flyer models are soon to be available: one with a 155HP engine and the other with a 215HP engine. The stronger engine model will reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour, and the “flight ceiling” or maximum height will be limited to 28 feet in the air.
Just like the jetpacks of imagination, the JetLev flyer allows users to hover, rise and lower, strafe and turn in the air. Although movement is restricted to a certain speed and pattern, JetLev claims that users will still have an enjoyable experience.
Rightfully, JetLev also lists possibilities for use with the JetLev flyers, which is obviously not restricted to personal or recreational use. Some great examples JetLev listed were beach-patrol, search and rescue missions, offshore services, marine/bridge inspection, maintenance, maritime safety, harbor security and military operations.
The JetLev flyer models are not yet available for retail purchase, but several locations and certain affiliated theme parks allow users the chance to entertain themselves with the jetpacks. Official information on the JetLev flyers and information on locations that allow users to try the jetpacks can be found here.

Wow! I definitely want on. Wonder how much they cost.
